It was about time I changed this part of my blog as I can no longer claim to be the fresh student looking for a job. I will post information that has to do with librarianship, dealing with patrons, dealing with co-workers, my research interests and other issues in the library, including things I was afraid to ask, information I wanted to know and much more.....

Hi,
I am in Australia and I have noted that many people with mental illness and who are homeless use the libraries here.
I have posted about my experiences with the local library when I was in a full psychotic episode.

I would be interested in hearing about interactions between librarians and people with these difficulties. Regards
Hello there,
good to hear from you. I used to work in a public library and we had public from different walks of life come in. Some were mentally unstable, drunk, psychotic and a few others were normal when they werent' angry. There was never a dull day.
Try a search in our Library Journal http://www.libraryjournal.com/csp/cms/sites/LJ/SearchTest/index.csp?cx=008072844330499557307%3Aixrrlyslflg&cof=FORID%3A10&ie=UTF-8&q=public+library+mental&siteurl=www.libraryjournal.com%2Fcsp%2Fcms%2Fsites%2FLJ%2FLJInPrint%2FArchive%2Findex.csp#928
Do you have anything similar - a journal I can access in Australia?
Thanks,
Maha.
